Queensland’s VLAD law ‘pushed bikies away from creating chaos’: Shadow AG

The Queensland Opposition is digging in against changes to anti-gang laws that it says will reduce the state’s crime-fighting powers from the nation’s strongest to the weakest.

The Government plans to scrap the former LNP government’s Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment (VLAD) law, as well as laws preventing bikie gang members meeting in groups of three or more.

Instead, there will be sentencing provisions for “serious organised crime” with a mandatory jail penalty, and consorting laws to prevent people convicted of crimes from meeting.

“There’s certainly lots of strong talk there but anyone reading between the lines knows that these laws are going to be watered down,” shadow attorney-general Ian Walker told.

“We now have the prospect of moving from the strongest anti-gang laws to the weakest.”

The VLAD law had secured only two convictions but Mr Walker said they were a deterrent.

“The fact that the laws have been in effect has pushed the bikies away from creating chaos,” he said.

“These laws have been fair, they’ve been strong and they have had the desired effect of keeping the gangs out of Queensland.

“The Premier keeps saying she wants convictions – you can only get convictions if you have crime. We don’t want convictions, we want no crime.”

The LNP also opposes replacing anti-association provisions with anti-consorting legislation, which would ban gang members gathering if they had a conviction.

“Our anti-association laws are there to make sure that we prevent the association, not deal with it after it happens,” Mr Walker said.

“There has been no proper review of these laws as to whether they’re working or not. There’s simply been a taskforce report on how to get rid of them.”

“The gangs are smarter than the Attorney-General, I’m afraid to say.”

Proposed replacement laws concerning to civil libertarians

Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath acknowledged the LNP’s laws deterred gang crime, but said they had to be legally solid and operationally effective.

“The anti-association provision itself has not been tested in the High Court and that is the one that really is the crux of this, the one the Newman government put all the eggs in the basket about,” Ms D’Ath said.

“It is the one area that the taskforce says is most likely to fail in a High Court challenge.

“So it’s constitutionally important that the laws were robust but it’s also important operationally that we can actually get convictions.

“They were a good deterrent and we don’t deny that. But if you’re going to have a big stick, every now and then you have to show that you’re going to use it and it works, and the problem is with these laws we weren’t getting [many] convictions.”

The Government will introduce its laws in August.

The Queensland Council for Civil Liberties welcomed the Government’s decision to repeal VLAD law, but said it had concerns about proposed replacements.

Council vice president Terry O’Gorman said introducing control orders on people convicted of organised crime was the wrong move.

“Control orders in respect of organised crime have no place because what it does is it continues to punish people, once they’ve been punished for the main offence,” he said.

MASSIVE EXPLOSION HAS BLOWN THE FRONT OFF THE HELLS ANGELS CLUBHOUSE

Massive explosion has blown the front off the Hells Angels clubhouse at Petersham this morning, damaging surrounding homes and businesses.

Residents say the force of the blast shook them from their beds, with a massive bang around 2am this morning.

The front of the Hells Angels clubhouse on Crystal Street is now rubble. Shattered glass from nearby businesses and homes lies across the street.
The force of the blast even blew the awning off the solicitors building across the road. Two men in a black four-wheel drive were seen fleeing the scene.

The damage to the Hells Angels clubhouse appears contained to the front of the building. A solid brick protects the inside, which remains intact.

LEADER OF TEXAS BIKER CLUB THE BANDIDOS IS FOUND GUILTY OF ORDERING THE AMBUSH AND MURDER OF RIVAL GHOST RIDERS MEMBER AT A DIVE BAR

The alleged leader of a motorcycle club has been found guilty of murder and engaging in organized crime, among other charges.

The jury found him not guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Baker was on trial for Brady’s killing, which took place on December 12, 2014 at Fort Worth’s Gator’s Jam Inn.

According to prosecutors, Baker told members of the Bandidos to ambush Brady at the bar, reports the Star-Telegram.

Prosecutors detailed how Baker, accompanied by 30 of his fellow Bandidos went to the Gator’s Jam Inn, fired guns and then dragged Brady outside before killing him in front of his wife, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Two others were injured during the fight.

Bangs added that the Bandidos were ‘in for a fight’ and noted that ‘when you take guns and knives to a fight, people die.’

Prosecutors claimed that Baker had ordered the ambush because of a dispute over the bikers’ territory.

Baker did not testify and his defense team did not call any witnesses during the trial.

Instead, the defense argued that the prosecution’s case lacked evidence — that the only thing the prosecution proved was that Baker was a member of the Bandidos.

‘It’s not a crime to be a member of the Bandidos,’ defense attorney Tim Choy said, while saying that Baker is a family man who worked at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum.

Choy also said that the evidence presented by the prosecution was inconsistent — including the fact that witnesses from the Gator’s Jam Inn had conflicting accounts of what happened and that none of the guns collected from the Bandidos matched the bullets fired at Brady.

The prosecution stated that the witnesses they had called were paying attention to different things that occurred during the incident and that the defense would be suspicious if they all had the exact same testimony.

The defense also argued that no evidence had been provided that Baker instigated the raid, but prosecutors claimed they proved that Baker was the president of the Bandidos chapter and as such, he ultimately held the power to issue the order.

The prosecution also invoked Texas’ Law of Parties, which states that a person can be held criminally responsible for another’s actions in certain circumstances.

Baker was taken to jail after the verdict was read. He had been out on bail before the trial.

Baker is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday. He faces up to life in prison.

Multimillion dollar motorcycle business closes without warning

Just a few days ago the lot was full with cars and motorcycles. Midwest Cycle Center is located off of highway 65 behind Lambert’s.

Now the doors are locked. The voicemailbox is full. The Better Business Bureau says customers need to ‘legal up’.

More than a dozen customers tell Contact KY3 … they have unfinished business with Midwest Cycle Center.

“I paid one thousand dollars down,” said Toni Nehls. Nehls just bought a seventeen thousand dollar Harley.

“I don’t have a title so I can’t get a license for my bike. I have paid for gap insurance. I won’t have that now. The bike has seven thousand miles on it and now we don’t have a warranty,” she said.

Contact KY3 called the city of Ozark and asked about the status of the business license. Contact KY3 was told the business license wasn’t renewed for 2017.

“They’ve been an accredited business with us. They show a three and a half million dollar a year revenue stream. People don’t go from a multimillion revenue stream to shut the door and walk away … that’s weird. That’s very strange. We don’t see that very often at all,” said Jon Anfinson with the Better Business Bureau.

COPS PULL BIKER OVER FOR DECIBEL TEST AND OVERHEATS THE BIKE IN THE PROCESS!

While most cities and towns actually have noise ordinances and laws restricting how loud vehicles can be, it seems they’re rarely enforced unless a driver is being an outright nuisance or a vehicle is obnoxiously loud and warrants special attention.

Sometimes, however, there are officers or even whole municipalities that keep a tighter reign on the volume levels in within their borders, and it seems this biker happened to find one of those officers.

The policeman pulled out his decibel meter and placed it the required distance from the bike’s pipes

and started it up, taking a reading at idle before moving on to the second part of the test, getting a reading at 2000 RPM. This posed a bit of a problem, as the officer found it impossible to get either of his devices to give him a reading on the bike’s engine speed, leaving him dead in the water as far as completing the test, although he did let the bike run long enough that it began to overheat toward the end.

The officer, clearly miffed that he wasn’t able to carry out the test, had no choice but to let the biker go without a citation, ending this video on a positive note.

Video shows man attack motorcyclist in Ohio road rage incident

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio — A helmet camera captured a road rage incident last week in which a man can be seen knocking over a motorcycle and then apparently punching the bike’s owner.

The Dayton Daily News reports the confrontation occurred Friday on an onramp for Interstate 675. The driver of a car and the motorcycle driver pulled over and began arguing.

Police believe the incident was sparked when the car cut off the motorcycle.

Video shows the motorcycle driver approach the car. The car’s driver jumps out, runs to the motorcycle while talking on a cellphone, then kicks it over.

“I’m calling the cops. I’m calling the cops,” the motorcycle rider can be heard saying.

Moments later the car’s driver can be seen walking by the motorcyclist when he appears to suddenly throw a punch. The motorcyclist falls to the ground yelling.

“Dude, what is your problem?” the motorcyclist says. Although he reportedly was injured in the face, he refused treatment at the scene, reports say.

Police tell the Daily News they have identified the car’s driver but the incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.

[WATCH] Black Man Body Slams Cop, But 50,000 Volts Turn It Around QUICK

A black man was recently caught on video in quite the scuffle with two police officers, even managing to body slam one of them. Unfortunately for him, 50,000 volts turned the situation around in an awful hurry.

Although there isn’t much information given on the video, as soon as it flips on, the man in question is fighting with police. As we all know, no matter the circumstance, this type of behavior always puts you in the wrong, but this man seemed determined to get away no matter the cost.

Viewers watch as the three men – one suspect and two police officers – flip over one another before squaring off again. Though one might think the officers have the upper hand, it isn’t long before the man they’re trying to subdue takes control.

Without warning, he charges one officer and body slams him on the ground before continuing to wrestle with him. Unfortunately for him, things were about to take a turn.

As one of the officers has the man by the head, the other regains his composure and reaches for his utility belt. Before long, the plan becomes abundantly clear as the second officer draws his taser, raises the non-lethal weapon, and fires the eclectic probes into the suspect’s body.

Just like that, the fight is over as every one of the man’s muscles tenses up, leaving him lying in the fetal position on the floor. After the first five second pulse is sent through his body, it doesn’t seem as though he’s quite ready to comply, but a second pull of the trigger, and another 5 seconds later, he’s ready to do as he’s told.

Following officers every command immediately at this point, the video cuts out as the officers are preparing to cuff the man.

In yet another video of police officers doing everything right despite being put in danger, this video won’t be seen anywhere on the mainstream media. These officers did everything in their power to bring this man into custody unharmed and deployed non-lethal force in order to ensure that was the outcome.

As this doesn’t fit the whole “white cops hate black people” and “cops are murderers” narratives currently being circulated by the left, it’s no wonder it’s not being reported on. It’s cops like these that keep our streets safe without getting the credit they deserve.

POLICE STORM HELLS ANGELS CLUBHOUSE WITH ARMOURED VEHICLE

Police in Cologne performed a raid on the clubhouse of the Hells Angels biker gang, using a specially modified armoured vehicle, and uncovered a stash of weapons and money.

At around 9pm on Wednesday evening, police carried out a raid on the clubhouse of the Hells Angels, as part of an investigation into gang violence in Cologne, according to the Rheinische Post.

In the operation, which took place in the Ostheim district of the city, police brought out a specially modified vehicle, called the Patriot 3.

The vehicle broke down the doors to the clubhouse, allowing police to storm into the building.

The armoured car was bought by the police special forces (SEK) from a company in Virginia in the US, which also manufactures military handware. The vehicle is complete with a battering ram and an iron cage, according to the Rheinische Post.

During the raid, police discovered and seized weapons, including knives and a gun, and hundreds of Euros in cash. Around 100 officers were involved in the overnight investigation.

As well as the seized weapons, police also detained 12 members of the gang.

The reason for the raid was a dispute between the Hells Angels and a rival gang, the Bandidos.

The rival gang was celebrating the birthday of their president, Aykut Ö, when 40 Hells Angels tried attacking the celebrations in Cologne’s city centre.

They reportedly tried to get into the nightclub where the celebrations were taking place, but were stopped at the entrance by officers with pepper spray and batons.

Hells Angels claim that the area where the nightclub lies belongs to them. They apparently saw the party, where about 100 people were invited, as a provocation.
